The Vita was rewritten and amplified by the monks of Issoire, who retained as a relic the saint's head.
He then joined Scotland's under-21 World Championship squad after the pool stage as a replacement for injured player Johnnie Beattie, playing as a substitute in the 46–14 win against Georgia in Issoire.

The basilica is one of the five Romanesque churches in Auvergne known as the "greater" churches (majeures), the others being the church of Saint-Austremoine in Issoire, the Basilica of Notre-Dame of Orcival, the church of Saint-Nectaire, and the church of Saint-Saturnin.
The main altar is built of Verde Issoire, a green marble quarried in the French Alps.
The principal line, part of the PLM Transcévenol, threads its way along the Gardon valley from Alès to Génolhac to Mende, this section of the line was approved in 1861 and opened 5 May 1870, and provided the link between Languedoc, Alès and Issoire and Paris.
