The flag-off for the mile begins near the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station and ends near Orchard MRT Station where participants run past famous landmarks such as the Istana, the President’s place of residence.

Wood supply to build the Istana came from the region of Dungun and this responsibility of obtaining it was entrusted to Tengku Panglima Besar Tengku Muda Kechik.
