In 2004 he published the filological edition of La coscienza di Zeno in Complete Works of Italo Svevo (Mondadori), which imposed itself as the basic edition for later Svevo's critics.
After being involved in a serious car accident, he was brought into hospital at Motta di Livenza, where his health rapidly failed.
Born in Trieste, his mother was a symphony violinist and the niece of novelist Italo Svevo.
