Itter Castle, Schloss Itter, is a small castle situated on a hill near the village of Itter in Austria.
Another narrow section is the gully near the village of Itter.
Eduard Weiter (18 July 1889, Eschwege – 2 May 1945, Itter) was a German bureaucrat who became a Schutzstaffel Obersturmbannführer and concentration camp commandant.
In winter the Hohe Salve is part of the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser/Brixental ski region and there are several runs from the top into the surrounding villages of Söll, Itter, Hopfgarten and Brixen im Thale.
There are also many neighbouring towns with an extended variety of slopes including Itter a perfect slope for those early skiing lessons.
After Archbishop Gerlach of Mainz and Landgrave Hesse had taken the larger part of the Lordship of Itter in 1357, Gerlach mortgated his share to Otto II for 1000 Marks carat silver.
