The group continued into the 21st century, led by Davies' brother Peter; and together with the likes of artists Ivor Davies, Iwan Bala, Peter Finnemore and Tim Davies the group found respectability under post-modern reassessments.
He won the Owain Glyndŵr Award in 1998, “for outstanding contributions to the arts in Wales”.

In 2012 Bala collaborated with poet, and fellow lecturer at Trinity Saint David's, Menna Elfyn for an exhibition called Field-notes.
