Jūmonji Station opened on September 14, 1905 as a station on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR), serving the village of Jūmonji, Akita.
Jumonji Sisters (Dash Chisako and Sendai Sachiko) are the current champions in their first reign both individually and as a team.
The October 2012 film Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie saw Retsu Ichijouji (Kenji Ohba) pass the torch to a new generation of Space Sheriffs led by Geki Jumonji (Yuma Ishigaki), who makes a few cameos in that year's Super Sentai series installment Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters.
He produced another good score of 5-2 in May 2010 from makushita 6, which included wins over Jūmonji and Hōchiyama.
