224th Joint Communications Support Squadron (JCSS), provides deployable tactical communications for JTF and JSOTF Headquarters
Mohammed Sulaymon Barre was a Somali, living in a Pakistani refugee camp, who worked for a Somalia hawala named Dahabshiil, that JTF-GTMO analysts asserted had ties to al-Barakat.
He served as Deputy Commander, Joint Task Force Southwest Asia (JTF-SWA) and Combined Air Operations Center Director at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, from November 2001 through March 2002 during Operation Enduring Freedom.
As Deputy Commander, JTF-GNO, Rear Adm. Hight was responsible to United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) for directing the operation and defense of the Global Information Grid (GIG).
JTF Gold had a strength of over 4000 personnel drawn from all three services and was commanded by Brigadier Gary Byles.
The director of the Joint Intelligence Group, Paul Rester, said: "I consider the information that we obtained from him to be useful", though he declined to offer any substantiation for this claim.
