The Schowalter Foundation is a Kansas-based Mennonite philanthropic foundation formed in 1954 from the estate of Jacob A. Schowalter of Newton, Kansas.


Jacob A. Beidler

Owing to ill health he declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1906 to the Sixtieth Congress.

Jacob A. Cantor

Cantor was elected as a Democrat to the 63rd United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Francis Burton Harrison, and served from November 4, 1913, to March 3, 1915.

He was born at 19, Second street, NYC, as the son of Henry Cantor and Hannah Cantor, both natives of London.

Jacob A. Garber

He served as delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1932, and was an unsuccessful candidate for election in 1940 to the Seventy-seventh Congress.

Garber was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-first Congress in 1928, but was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1930 to the Seventy-second Congress.
