The 2014 Piano Festival Faculty includes: Janina Fialkowska, Horacio Gutiérrez, Niel Immelman, Vadym Kholodenko, Stephen Kovacevich, John Lill, Ferenc Rados, Staffan Scheja, and Dame Fanny Waterman, as well as the orchestra’s own Music Director, Marios Papadopoulos.
While this theory is considered exceedingly unlikely by some, it is not so considered by Janina Fialkowska, the pianist who premiered Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 3 in 1990.

Hundreds of internationally renowned talents have performed at the festival such as soprano Kathleen Battle; pianists Peter Serkin, Menahem Pressler and Janina Fialkowska; the Emerson String Quartet; the Hilliard Ensemble; Daniel Taylor and the Theatre of Early Music; Emma Kirkby; the Chamber Players of Canada; the Canadian Brass; Les Violons du Roy; and the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Laughton founded Opening Day Recordings in 1993 as a means of promoting Canadian music and musicians such as pianist Janina Fialkowska, harpist Judy Loman, composer R. Murray Schafer, soprano Mary Lou Fallis and the Hannaford Street Silver Band with conductor Bramwell Tovey.
