The Norwegian national final to select their entry, the Melodi Grand Prix 1986, was held on 22 March at the Stavanger Forum convention center in Stavanger, and was hosted by actor Jarl Goli.
The hosts were Eli Rygg and Jarl Goli together with Terje Strømdahl who shared the role as the male host.
