Jangseungbaegi Station

The neighborhood's name, in turn, is derived from an abundance of Korean village guardians (jangseung), erected in the 18th century by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty.

Jeongjo of Joseon

Played by Bae Soo-bin in Painter of the Wind – a 2008 TV series about the painters Shin Yun-bok and Kim Hong-do, adapted from Lee Jeong-myeong's novel of the same title.

Princess Hwawan

Eventually, Princess Hwawan's machinations were discovered by King Jeongjo of Joseon, Crown Prince Sado's son and Princess Hwawan's nephew, and she was sent into exile.
