Jerome Brown

Brown died on June 25, 1992, at the age of 27, following an automobile accident in Brooksville, Florida, in which both he and his 12-year-old nephew, Gus, were killed when Brown lost control of his ZR1 Chevrolet Corvette at high speed and crashed into a utility pole.

Days earlier, Brown and fellow University of Miami players drew even greater national controversy when each were seen deplaning a chartered University of Miami plane at Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport, wearing BDUs.


1992 Philadelphia Eagles season

Tragedy struck the team when, on June 25, 1992, defensive tackle Jerome Brown lost control of his Chevrolet Corvette at high speed before crashing into an electric pole, killing Brown and his nephew.

Garry Cobb

While with the Eagles, Cobb was a teammate with quarterback Randall Cunningham and played in one of coach Buddy Ryan's most dominant defensive front units which included Jerome Brown, Clyde Simmons, Seth Joyner and Hall of Famer Reggie White.
