After completion of Danae's score, Strauss was planning in 1940, at the suggestion of Heinz Drewes and Hans Joachim Moser, to collaborate with Gregor to rework the libretto of the opera Jessonda (music: Louis Spohr, libretto: Edward Henry Go ).
