An old Slavic settlement upon a ford was moved to a nearby hill where the mining town was founded (ca. 1240) by king Václav I, in the Middle Ages inhabited mostly by Germans (mostly from Northern Bavaria and Upper Saxony).

He returned to the Czech Republic in 2004, spending his final seasons playing in the 1. národní hokejová liga for HC Berounští Medvědi, SK Horácká Slavia Třebíč and a third spells with Jihlava before retiring in 2008.

During the following ten years he played at small theaters in Jihlava, Klagenfurt, Opava, Budapest, Leipzig, and Liebenstein; from 1874 to 1890 he was a member of the "Meininger", and appeared in such roles as Shylock, Iago, Gessler, Franz Moor, and Marinelli.
He received his education in Bártfa, Jihlava, probably also in Vienna, and between 1589 and 1591 in Strasbourg, where he was awarded the title of a Master of Philosophy.
