He began work in November 1975 as the deputy party secretary of a people's commune in Ji County in Hebei (now the county-level city of Jizhou).
The Jibaozhai Museum was a museum and 'patriotic education center' that was located in the village of Erpu in Jizhou, which is in the province of Hebei.
Then he fought with Hu armies in Jizhou, lead to several millions of migrants of different races to flee, and in the way they attacked each other and only 2-3/10 people was able to go back to their origins.

In 853, the story first appeared in Miscellaneous Morsels from Youyang, which was published shortly after he returned to Chang'an after his term of acting Governor of Jizhou (now known as Ji'an in Jiangsu).
He also wrote a great number of poems and proses, which he compiled into the Collection of Zhizhi Hall (止止堂集), named after his study hall during his office in Jizhou.
