The right-hand corner was renamed 'Joey's' in honour of Joey Dunlop, a 26 time winner of the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races.
His first podium came a year later in the same race, where he finished 2nd behind Joey Dunlop.
After the death of Joey Dunlop, a statue to his memory was erected in the grounds of the museum and it still remains there despite the closure of the museum.
