Boogie-Doodle

Though released by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) in 1941, Boogie-Doodle was actually made by McLaren in New York City in 1940, a year before he was invited by John Grierson to Canada to found the NFB's animation unit.

Grierson Awards

The awards have been set up by the Grierson Trust to commemorate the life and work of world-renowned documentary filmmaker John Grierson.

Sir William Grierson, 2nd Baronet

His occupation is unknown, but his younger brother, John Grierson (died 23 February 1730, also reported to have died on 16 March 1730 in error) was an Apothecary in Carlisle.
