3 unusual facts about John Prichard

Laleston

A restoration of 1871 saw all the original windows replaced, and this work was completed by John Prichard, more famous for his restoration of Llandaff Cathedral.

Rockfield, Monmouthshire

The church tower is mediaeval, but the rest of the church was rebuilt and refitted in 1859-60 by John Prichard and John Pollard Seddon in the Early English and Perpendicular styles.

Tintern

Medieval in origin, the church was virtually rebuilt in 1866-68 by John Prichard.

Llandough, Penarth

The current church, which was built in the middle of the 19th century by the Llandaff diocesan architects, Prichard and Seddon, replaced one built a few years earlier, which was apparently sold to the next village of Leckwith, and moved piece-by-piece to be erected there.
