Jol Dantzig, American guitar player and designer, founder of Hamer Guitar company
The first known 12-string bass guitar, the "Hamer Quad", was designed by Jol Dantzig and built in 1978 for Tom Petersson by Hamer Guitars.
Hamer Guitars was an American manufacturer of electric guitars, founded in 1973 by vintage guitar shop owners Paul Hamer, Jol Dantzig and John Montgomery in Arlington Heights Illinois.
He also discussed plans with Jol Dantzig for doing a side project called "The Boss Weird" that was to include possibly Elliot Easton as well (Dantzig Design Group, 2006).
His guitar and vocal work appears on recordings by Freddy Scott, Buddy Guy, Wilson Pickett, Frank Black, Jim Carrol and Shaw-Blades.
