In 1376 Duke Leopold of Austria pledged the rights to the low justice in the Kelleramt (of which Jonen was part) to Gottfried Milliner of Zurich.
The paaltjasker was built in 2010 on the initiative of Stichting Natuurlijk Jonen which works on the protection of the cultural and natural landscape around hamlet Jonen.
