Joseph Towers

He preached as a Unitarian minister without charge, and in 1792 succeeded Roger Flexman as librarian of Dr Williams's Library; resigning this post in 1804, he led an eccentric life, busy with literary schemes, and collecting books and prints.

Joseph Towers (1737–1799) was an English Dissenter and biographer.


Biographia Britannica

Five volumes of an incomplete second edition, edited by Andrew Kippis with the assistance of Joseph Towers, appeared between 1778 and 1793, and cover names commencing Aa through to Fa; a sixth volume was prepared for publication, and may have been published, but now seems to be lost.
