Upon graduating from Juilliard, Dominick signed with The Jazz Tree, a well-known management company in New York City whose roster of past clients over the years has included Diana Krall, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride, Freddie Hubbard and J.J. Johnson, among distinguished others.
Recorded in 1992, it was released in 1993 and features performances by Motian with Joshua Redman, Brad Schoeppach, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Stomu Takeishi.
His former students lead their own groups and have played with bands led by a wide range of jazz legends, such as Roy Haynes, Kenny Garrett, Elvin Jones, Pat Metheny, Cecil Taylor, Wynton Marsalis, Richard Bona, Joshua Redman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Charlie Haden, Terence Blanchard, Charlie Hunter, Anthony Braxton, Jimmy Smith, Eliane Elias, and Lonnie Plaxico.
Eigsti has performed and recorded with many contemporaries including: Eric Harland, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride, Nicholas Payton, Ambrose Akinmusire, Walter Smith III, Dayna Stephens, Julian Lage, Reuben Rogers, Larry Grenadier, Kendrick Scott, Gretchen Parlato, and Mike Moreno, among others.
In this album, Joshua Redman strings together 8 different original compositions into a continuous piece for the first time, with pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson (part of Redman's Quartet) as partners in this project.
