June Bronhill

Bronhill was born June Mary Gough in the inland Australian city of Broken Hill, New South Wales.

She also had roles in The Maid of the Mountains, Call Me Madam, A Little Night Music, Nunsense, My Fair Lady and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as well as appearing in the non-musical plays Arsenic and Old Lace and Straight and Narrow.


Robert and Elizabeth

The original 1964 London production was a success, starring Sir John Clements as Barrett, June Bronhill as Elizabeth and Keith Michell as Robert.

Rosina Raisbeck

For the next 10 years, Raisbeck sang wherever and whatever she could: a tremendously successful production of The Sound of Music, in which she sang the Abbess, with June Bronhill as Maria, was followed by Carousel.
