In addition to the main station, KENW-FM is simulcasted in Maljamar on KMTH 98.7 and in Tucumcari on KENM 89.3 and relayed by an additional 10 translators to widen its broadcast area.
Amarillo was one of the last major cities to get its own PBS station; prior to then, viewers in the Texas Panhandle watched PBS either on Amarillo's commercial stations (on a per-program basis), or via cable on Dallas' KERA-TV, OETA from Oklahoma, or New Mexico's KENW.
This attack happened during prime-time programming on WNMU-TV, the PBS affiliate in the same city, KENW in Portales, New Mexico, and KRTV in Great Falls, Montana.
