He is a fan of KK Partizan and makes a brief and reluctant on-court appearance during their 1992 Euroleague victory celebration.
It is also one of the only six European clubs to have provided two players to the same NBA draft in 2009, beside Real Madrid (2005), Joventut Badalona (2009), Fenerbahçe Ülker (2008), KK Partizan (2002) and Pau-Ortez (2003).
On April 25, 2010, in the title game of the 2009–10 season of the Adriatic League, Partizan Belgrade topped Cibona Zagreb after overtime in Arena Zagreb, thanks to an off-the-glass three-pointer by Kecman from half-court at the buzzer, bringing the celebration of Cibona players and staff (who already invaded the floor as Bojan Bogdanović scored a corner three-pointer for Cibona with just 0.6 seconds left on the clock) to an abrupt end.
During summer 1985 he returned to Partizan organization, becoming assistant to the newly arrived head coach Vladislav Lučić.
In 2013 the BC Sloboda achieved a big success in recent club history gaining spot in the Radivoj Korać Cup quarterfinal against Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade.
