Southern California's classical radio station, K-Mozart 105.1FM, broadcast a one hour program containing portions of the inaugural concert by the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor John Scott.
The official switch from jazz to classical occurred on January 1, 1990, and began with selections from Franz Lehár's operetta The Land of Smiles.
From May 2007 to November 27, 2007, XESURF aired classic country music as "540 The Zoo." From October 2006 to May 2007, it was a more contemporary country format, first simulcasting AM1260 (was KGIL, now KMZT), then FM105.1 (KKGO).
