Kalotina is known for the Kalotina-Gradinje border checkpoint, one of Bulgaria's busiest and best-known due to the proximity to Sofia.
The village can be reached by car through the roads either from the towns of Dragoman or Godech but the very Monastery are accessible by car only by a dirt road, when the land is dry, from Kalotina and Cheparlintsi village.
