This is the time when the festival of Paryushan is celebrated and the Kalpasutra is traditionally recited.
According to Shwetambar scripture Kalpasutra,Indrabhuti the great Brahman was preparing for yagna (a holy sacrifice) along with his 500 disciples which included his learned brothers Agnibhuti and Vayubhuti.
It is mentioned as a region in the later texts of the Satapatha Brahmana and the Kalpasutras.
These include an inscribed wine jar bearing the name of Aurangzeb Alamgir (17th century), a jade chamakali with the name Jahangir and the date 1036 AD, a 16th-century painting of a scene from the Kalpasutra depicting an elephof India.
The Dharmasūtra of Vasiṣṭha forms an independent treatise and has no relationship with the Kalpasutra.

He is more famously known as a spiritual teacher of Chandragupta Maurya and author of several texts related to Jainism, including some of the most important works, Upsargahara Stotra and Kalpasutra.
Vāsiṣṭha (300–100 BCE) this Dharmasūtra forms an independent treatise and bears no relationship to the Kalpasūtra.
