Jason Lee Whitlock (born April 27, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana) is a sportswriter for ESPN, and a former columnist at the Kansas City Star, AOL Sports, and Foxsports.com, as well as a radio personality for WHB and KCSP sports stations in the Kansas City area.
Brown started all four years at Hazelwood West High School in Hazelwood, Missouri at free safety and running back and was a two-time consensus Class 6 all-state performer by the Missouri Coaches Association, the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and the Kansas City Star.
He was fired after the 1961 season by Charlie Finley, who had purchased the ballclub the previous year, for refusing to participate in a campaign intended to spite the sports editor of the Kansas City Star.
