Kara Patria David was born on September 12, 1973 to Professor Emeritus Randy David of the University of the Philippines Diliman and former Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission Karina Constantino-David.
She is also the mother of journalist Kara David and UP Diliman geology professor Dr. Carlos Primo David.
The couple has four children, including broadcast journalist Kara David, UP National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) professor Dr. Carlos Primo David, Nadya Melina David and Jika David.
