Kazimierz Sikorski

From 1951 to 1966, he taught music theory and composition at the Music Academy Warsaw.

He was rector of the State Higher School of Music in Łódź.

Sikorski was born in Zurich, but studied in Warsaw, first music at the Warsaw Conservatory and then philosophy at the University of Warsaw.

Among the former rectors of the Academy were such luminaries of the Polish music scene as Kazimierz Wiłkomirski (1945-1947), cellist, composer, conductor and brother of Wanda Wiłkomirska, as well as Kazimierz Sikorski (1947-1954), recipient of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1937), composer of symphonies, overtures and concertos.

He studied composition with Kazimierz Sikorski and piano with Stanisław Szpinalski at the State Higher School of Music in Łódź and graduated in 1946.
