The Kelpies are two 30-metre high steel sculptures in Falkirk, on the Forth & Clyde Canal.


Australian Kelpie

'Riley', an Australian Kelpie, set the world record for dog jumping when he jumped 2.95 metres at the Casterton, Victoria Kelpie Festival.

An early Kelpie, Sally was mated to Moss a smooth haired Collie and she produced a black pup that was named Barb after the black horse, The Barb who won the Melbourne Cup in 1866.

In 1903 he drew up the first standard for the Australian Cattle Dog, and in 1904 the first standard for the Kelpie and another variety of sheepdog he called the Barb, a breed which is now considered synonymous with the Kelpie.
