The fungus was originally collected in a jungle in Kemaman, Trengganu (Malaysia), on 24 June, 1932, where it was found growing on soil buried in leaves at a river's edge.
Siswa/siswi started their studies in a temporary Tati campus at the College of Religious Sultan Zainal Abidin (KUSZA) before moving to the permanent campus in the Gulf Kalong, Kemaman, in 1996.
