After The Tempters, he formed the band PYG along with Kenji Sawada, the first true Japanese supergroup, a unit which included members of The Tigers, The Tempters, and The Spiders.
In 1968, the Bee Gee Barry Gibb were commissioned to compose two songs for the band in an attempt at international success.
Formed in 1971, the unit was fronted by the two biggest stars of the era: lead singers Kenji Sawada of The Tigers and Kenichi Hagiwara of The Tempters.
