Hannah Kilham (1774–1832), Methodist and Quaker, wife of Alexander Kilham, known as a missionary and linguist
Kilham's second wife, Hannah Kilham née Spurr (1774–1832), whom he married only a few months before his death, became a Quaker, and worked as a missionary in the Gambia and Sierra Leone; she transcribed to writing several West African languages.
Hannah Kilham opened a day-school in Nottingham, spending her vacations at Epworth, her husband's early home.
Namely parodying songs by The Velvet Underground with pizza-themed songs names and lyrics, the group consists of child actor Macaulay Culkin (kazoo, percussion and vocals) along with Matt Colbourn (guitar, vocals), Phoebe Kreutz (glockenspiel, vocals), Deenah Vollmer (pizza box, vocals), and Austin Kilham (tambourine, vocals).
Recently excavated long barrows at Fordon on Willerby Wold and at Kilham have been carbon dated to around 3700 B.C. A well-known round barrow of this period is the monumental Duggleby Howe, at the western end of the Great Wolds Valley, partially excavated in 1890 by J.R. Mortimer.
