Chesterfield Canal Trust

The Trust operates three 12-seat trip boats, one based at Chesterfield, another at Retford and the latest one at Kiveton Park.

Christopher Hargrave

Christopher George Hargrave (born 31 August 1951 in Kiveton Park, Yorkshire) was an English born cricket player, who moved to Australia and played for the Tasmanian Tigers.

Kiveton Park

The village is also famous as the birthplace of legendary football manager Herbert Chapman and his brother Harry, one of the greatest players to have played for Sheffield Wednesday.

Following many successful month long broadcasts since the year 2000 on Saturday 27 March 2010, Kiveton gained its very own community radio station on a 5 year liecence called Redroad

The building was demolished by George William Frederick Osborne, 6th Duke of Leeds in 1812, with local legend stating that the demolition was the result of a bet with the then Prince of Wales (subsequently George IV of the United Kingdom).

The event was established in 1978 and it used to be sponsored by Kiveton Park Steel.


Sheffield and Lincolnshire Junction Railway

The final link in the line between Sheffield and Gainsborough was completed in 1849 with stations at Kiveton Park, Shireoaks, Worksop, Retford and Sturton.
