The Ritchie Boys included several prominent men such as Hans Habe, Klaus Mann, Stefan Heym, Hanus Burger, George Mandler, Richard Schifter, Guy Stern, Walter Schwarz and David Robert Seymour.
His breakthrough roles came in 2001 with the portrayal of the kidnapped Richard Oetker (son of industrialist Rudolf August Oetker) in Dance with the Devil – The Kidnapping of Richard Oetker, and of the writer Klaus Mann in Heinrich Breloer's docudrama The Manns – A Novel of the Century.
He has also written a bestseller called Het derde huwelijk (The Third Marriage), as well as plays that have on more than one occasion been staged abroad, including Fort Europa, Mamma Medea (a free adaptation of Euripides), Mefisto for ever (a free adaptation of Klaus Mann) and Atropa.
