Kleinmaischeid is a municipality in the district of Neuwied, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany and was the centre point of the European Union from 1 May 2004 until 31 December 2006.
On May 1, 2004 the EU expanded from fifteen states to twenty-five, and the geographical centre of the union moved eastwards to the village of Kleinmaischeid, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
