Chacma baboon were once re-introduced to the reserve, but unfortunately, after becoming troublesome, were removed.

Kloof Road was built in 1848 and in 1884 Thomas Bain was commissioned to build a road from Sea Point to Camps Bay using convict labour.
In 2005, African National Congress members on the Durban Municipal Council proposed renaming Kloof Memorial Park in his honour.
