The opening of a K-Mart shopping centre on 19 October 2006 was the first large department store in the town.
Kmart Australia also featured the song in their 2013 series of TV commercials.

Campbellfield has a small shopping plaza on Sydney Road, which contains a K Mart discount store, a Coles supermarket and an Officeworks, as well as various take-away restaurants along Sydney Road.
A Fernwood Fitness Centre gym was located in part of the space during the early 2000s; as of December 2009, Fernwood has relocated to the Renaissance Centre (Toys "R" Us until its closure early 2012, being renovated for the majority of that year to Kmart, opened late November of that year), leaving Level 4 entirely empty, with Myer no longer keeping the doors open on that floor, but they are currently open as of April 2010.
