Banks Broadcasting

On July 1, 2008 Banks Broadcasting agreed to sell Boise's current CW and former UPN station KNIN-TV to Journal Broadcast Group, owner of KIVI, which would have created Boise's first television duopoly group.

KNIN-TV

Owned by Journal Communications, KNIN is sister to ABC affiliate KIVI-TV and the two outlets share studios (with several co-owned radio stations) on East Chisholm Drive in Nampa along I-84/US 30/SH-55.

Besides this television station sharing the same call sign with KNIN-FM 92.9 in Wichita Falls, Texas, there is no relation between the two.


Battle of Knin

Meanwhile the 19th Division fought off the attacks of the 373rd Wehrmacht Division along Knin - Zrmanja road near the river Krka.

The first attacks began on 7 November and were directed to Strmica north of Knin and the road to Bosansko Grahovo.

The Knin operation had three phases: Initial battles on approaches to Knin from 7 November to 25 November, main battle and liberation of Knin from 26 November to 4 December, and final battles and pursuit of retreating Axis forces to Otrić in Lika from 5 December to 9 December.

They managed to take the mountain of Promina and push the Germans north towards Kaldrma, but their plan to surround them at Kosovo polje was quickly thwarted by German reinforcements sent from Knin.

Civljane

Located in inland Dalmatia, north from the town of Vrlika, on the route between towns of Knin and Vrlika, Civljane village spread on 17.80 km2, on the field near the spring of river Cetina, on altitude of approximate 400 m, just under south base of mountain Dinara.

Una-Sana Canton

Due to the proximity to Croatia and that country's narrow northern outline, various important traffic lines between Zagreb and the Adriatic traverse the Una-Sana canton, such as the railway line Bosanski Novi — Bihać — Knin.

Zeni Husmani

Zeni Husmani was born in Čegrane, present day Macedonia and moved to Croatia after his father accepted job in Knin when he was seven year old, together with his mother, brother and sister.
