Since 2004 Kostrzyn has annually hosted Przystanek Woodstock in the summer, the largest open-air music festival in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
However, before the plan could be implemented, the Red Army had entered Germany, and it was decided to use the Mistels against their bridgehead at Küstrin instead.

It is located 1 km east of the Lubniewka River, a regional tributary of the Warta River, and 2 km southward from the railway line leading from Gorzów Wielkopolski to Kostrzyn nad Odrą.
