Apart from his home town Kotka, he lived for several years in Helsinki and Espoo.
Salomon Könönen (8 June 1916 in Suonenjoki – 21 February 1979 in Kotka) was a Finnish long-distance runner who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics.
After decommissioning, the vessels were moored at Loviisa, and it was planned that one was to be transferred to the new Maritime Museum in Kotka.
