In 1898 it absorbed the year-old competiting newspaper Langesund Blad—Bratsberg Blad tried to cover Langesund, Stathelle and Kragerø in addition to Brevik.

Her second spouse became a custom inspector in Stavanger in 1798 and Kragerø in 1806, and the couple became centers of these town's society life.

The site of Ødegården Verk is about 1 km south of the E18, turning off on the road Feset between Kragerø and Brevik.
The river beside Vadfoss has no clear name due to the fact that it changes names several times along its length, but it is often referred to as the Kragerø watershed estuary or sometimes the Kragerø River (see the Gallery section for a graphical representation of its many names).
