He died in 1847 and his grave is in the churchyard at Kralingen-Crooswijk, a suburb of Rotterdam.
Jamin, Heineken Brewery and many abattoirs were established there.
The easternmost part of Kralingen, Woudestein, is where the main campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Excelsior Rotterdam stadium are situated.
