4 unusual facts about Kundu


Chapirevula

Olden days i.e. before the bore wells are not present i.e. before 1980; the main source of drinking water and usage water is from Kundu and from few of the wells.

The name Chapirevula is derived from the Telugu word Chakirevu (As it is near to Kundu river).

Occasionally 20% of the village go drown in flood water of Kundu River.

Average temperature is around 28 °C and the village has plenty of water resources even in the hot summers as it is near to the river Kundu.

Nitun Kundu

During the Bangladesh Liberation War, Kundu worked with the celebrated artist Quamrul Hassan at the public relations department of the Bangladesh Government-in-Exile at Mujibnagar.

In the 1975, following a brief stint at Bitopi advertising agency, Nitun Kundu established his own company, a furniture store featuring his own designs, Otobi.
