In her book Ali and Nino – Literary Robbery!, Tamar Injia claims that Ali and Nino: A Love Story by Kurban Said (Austria, 1937) is extensively plagiarized from, and owes much of its existence to The Snake’s Skin by Grigol Robakidze (Germany, 1928).
Jenia Graman (born 1920s-died 2002) was a Russian-born translator, best known for her translation of Kurban Said's novel Ali and Nino which she translated from the original German into English.
For example, Essad Bey suggests that any woman who commits adultery should be tied up in a sack with a wild cat and thrown into the Bosphorus, or buried up to her head in the desert sands to be devoured at night by wild dogs.
