Jean-Joseph Vinache (1696 – 1 December 1754) was a French sculptor who served as court sculptor to Kurfürst Frederick Augustus I, Elector of Saxony, whose equestrian monument, the Goldener Reiter, the "gilded Horseman", is one of the most familiar sights of Dresden, Germany, though its sculptor is rarely noted.

Junkelmann started to study history at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 1971 and in 1979 he received a PhD for a thesis on the military achievements of Maximilian II (1662–1726) (original title: Kurfürst Max Emanuel von Bayern als Feldherr).
SS City of Los Angeles (1922), sailed under this name from 1922 until scrapped in 1937; formerly USS Aeolus (ID-3005) for the United States Navy in World War I and SS Grosser Kurfürst for Norddeutscher Lloyd before that.
