28th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Leningrad Order of Kutuzov(28 GIAP) was an Aviation Regiment of the Soviet Air Forces during the Second World War, the Korean War, and became part of the Russian Air Force after 1991.
On November 16, 1805, the nearby town of Schöngrabern was the site of a battle between the French Napoleonic troops under Joachim Murat (including general Nicolas Charles Oudinot, who was wounded) and the Russian general Pyotr Bagration (who was protecting Kutuzov's retreat north).
The Order of Kutuzov 1st class was also awarded to Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant in 1945, to recognize the enormous contribution of its workers towards the defeat of Nazi Germany.
