The regiment has been granted the Freedom of Entry to five cities: Melbourne, Kyneton, Beechworth, Traralgon and Sale.
Following his AFL career he played for Kyneton in the Bendigo Football League in 2005, in 2010 he played in the Riddell league, and in 2011 joined the Coburg Tigers in the VFL as an assistant coach.
Being located well away from any heavily populated areas and their inherent light pollution, Kyneton is also a destination for astronomers seeking a clear view of the Southern Hemisphere night skies.
It was designed by Flynn Silver, an Australian family company from Kyneton, Victoria.

Djadjawurrung was spoken by 16 clans around Murchison, the central highlands region, east to Kyneton, west to the Pyrenees, north to Boort and south to the Great Dividing Range.
Before coming to Sydney in the 1880s, where he gained employment as an accountant, Broomfield worked for the Kyneton (Victoria) Guardian and as a correspondent for the Melbourne Age.
He was educated at state schools in local villages including Mitiamo, Lancefield, Dunkeld and finally (from 1911 to 1917) at Kyneton, although from 1913 to 1917 he was occupied with compulsory military service.
